Athletes Learn to Lift
Dates: Feb. 13th, Feb 20th, Feb 27th (Saturdays)
Cost: $120 (all 3 seminars) before February 1st. $150 after February 1st.
Part 1: (2/13/16) Athletes will learn a variety of body weight exercises that, when practiced consistently, can lead to huge performance improvements. Athletes will also be coached on how to safely and effectively use dumbbells, kettlebells, plyo boxes, etc.
Theory: Athletes will not see significant improvements in speed, agility, mobility, strength and power without first mastering body weight exercises. Part I is the foundation for parts 2 & 3.
Part 2: (2/20/16) Athletes will learn how to properly, safely, and effectively perform compound lifts such as the deadlift, front squat, back squat, bench press and overhead presses.
Theory: Developing strength through multi-joint, functional movement will increase overall strength and, when practiced correctly and consistently, will build the functional strength that is necessary to prevent injury.
Part 3: (2/20/16) Athletes will learn complex lifts such as the clean, the jerk and the snatch from experienced coaches, with ample practice time and individual feedback/coaching.
Theory: These lifts are full body strength movements that will increase athlete speed, power, strength, explosiveness, and mental grit.
